About Me
I grew up in central Johannesburg, and was raised by an Irish mother and a Belgian father. Both of my parents moved to South Africa over a decade before I was born and built their own businesses respectively, in the melting pot of change which was Johannesburg at the time.
From a young age, I was always passionate about the environment and the impact of human activity on it. We also experienced electricity blackouts regularly, which only amplified my understanding of how important energy access is for development and for quality of life.
After moving to Ireland for University and completing my degree in Mechanical Engineering, I refocused my career path towards renewable energy engineering, where I could combine my technical background with my passion for environmental sustainability.
I quickly realised my passion lay with digging into data to uncover insights and solutions for environmental challenges. Today, I am shifting my focus to using data science and engineering principles to drive environmental impact and sustainability.
I live and work out of Edinburgh, which allows me to go for runs and hikes in nature from my doorstep when I'm not working. I enjoy reading, singing, climbing rocks, and exploring all that nature has to offer in my free time.
